About the Farm
History of the Farm
The farm has been family property for over 20 years. Ubuntu Farm was established through Michael Battle’s work with Archbishop Desmond Tutu in South Africa. Ubuntu can be understood through the proverb: “I am because we are; and because we are I am.” The farm works to illustrate such interdependency.
The Vineyard
The muscadine vineyard is very much still growing in its third year, the amount of time to establish most of the vines to reach the top trellis. It is about 3 acres.
Leasing Farm Land
In addition to the muscadine vineyard, Ubuntu Farm is currently reviewing a farmer applications for the growth of crops or use as pasture land for animals, maintain bee hives, or other creative ideas. Get in touch to further explore possibilities.
